Joshua Lane grew up on a farm in rural Ga. under the nurture and guidance of his maternal Grandmother, Arlena. He was taught by his grandmother that it doesn’t matter how meager your possessions are, you should always try to lend a helping hand to others, whether it be a piece of bread, a glass of water, or an encouraging word. The kindness, generosity and humility of his grandmother, Arlena, instilled in Lane and sparked his desire and passion to help others.
Joshua Lane served for 13 years in the Marine Corp, completing a tour in Vietnam where he was injured. He also served several years in Hawaii. While stationed in Hawaii, he also worked with several organizations assisting them in acquiring resources for needy families. From the success and soul satisfaction of working with these organizations, Lane found the Harvest of Hope Charity Foundation. Being a veteran himself, Lane made it a personal desire to work with the VA and other organizations to assist in getting homeless veterans off the streets and to place them in a safe environment. Through Harvest of Hope, Lane's goal is to assist in providing housing, medical and financial assistance for the homeless and to mentor them to become productive citizens in society.
Joshua L. Lane Sr. was injured while serving in Vietnam. He believes that a part of his therapeutic healing is giving back to other veterans who have been injured physically, spiritually, and/or emotionally.
